Apparently you boys were so busy drooling over her cute-yet-barely-noticeable Texas accent that you both forgot what the princess was wearing in the first Star Wars movie when they rescued her from the first Death Star. Which was a long white dress. And the Pilsbury Danish hairdo. Not the snow-planet costume, which was pants and a turtleck and some kind of vest.
