If you’re reading this, well then you’re probably a sinner. After all, you should have been sucked up into the almighty fluffiness last weekend if you were worthy. Alas, many people were led astray (again!) by the Max Von Sydow-esque Harold Camping, whose long awaited rapture was… a bit of a bust. Fortunately the entire episode gave the funny people on the interweb something to talk about for a few days.

Previously on the show, the nerds questioned whether or not people still read Playboy. Well now they have an easier way to do it. Now that Hef’s new young bride is feeding him his blue pills in the freshly disinfected and now 100% disease free grotto, his business savvy daughter has put every single page in Playboy’s illustrious 57 year history online. So for the millions who were looking for that long sought after Bruce Dern interview, your luck is about to change.

Those listening to the show last week will remember our luck needed a bit of changing when it came to interviewing the author of “Man Up” who we found on a train to work. This week Crashboy sits him down to talk about the finer skills involved with being a modern man, including the controversial inclusion of bra removal. (not your own)

Of course0 as everyone knows, the real measure of a man is his fertility, or lack thereof. And researchers this week found a rather unusual way to determine which men will be more likely to have boys that can swim. It all has to do with a length measurement, but….. umm…… probably not the one you’re thinking of.

All that plus, what we learned this week from an anonymous projectionist nicknamed “Deep Focus”, the nerds make a brief return to vajazling, and why you might want to work for a German insurance company.

We are tired of these monkey fighting geeks on this Monday to Friday plane! But hey, it’s better than a crocodile. Apparently, that’s exactly what brought down a passenger plane in Congo this week, according to the plane’s one survivor. So remember – live reptiles in your carry on?… Baaaad. Also bad? The thought that Goodfellas might very well have starred Tom Cruise and Madonna. (insert shudder here) That according to the film’s producer who this week told GQ that there was serious consideration given to the two biggest stars at the time.

Hey, Georgie is thinking about making three brand new Star Wars films which would be sequels to the 6 extant ones. Burning question – will there be Ewoks? At least there was some good news from space this week – it turns out the moon has more water than we thought. Which means we’ll be able to go there and completely tear it apart. Yay us!

Are you using Ping yet? (naw, neither are we) So we decided to get A List music geek and radio legend Alan Cross to answer the age old question – Who’s a bigger jerk, Zuckerberg or Jobs?

All that plus, Angry Birds, celebrity deathmatch (kinda), and why Penn Jilette might be to thank for the longer bath time of your wife.

When the iPad and Kindle came along, they were touted as the future of the book. Turns out, they might just be its death knell. Or so says a prominent expert who this week gave the hard copy a harsh diagnosis. Also getting a harsh diagnosis this week was Facebook’s privacy policy. Then again, if that comes as a surprise, you might want to go to the nearest mirror, look into it and smack yourself.

This week, the nerds also look at a study that says nice guys get the girl. Art had problems with it, but they still both kinda hope it’s true. What IS true however is Rupert Murdoch and the boys at News Corp escalated their war with cable companies this week. The nerds try to break it down. (Key word – “try”)

A Lesser listener this week pointed us to the fact that Han Solo actually had nothing to do with saving the day in Star Wars. It was in fact nameless tie fighter pilot #24601. Either that, or maybe the rebels were driving a Toyota Hilux. After all, that does seem to be the vehicle of choice for insurgents and their ilk. We here at the Flimm Building wonder what the EPA mileage of the Hilux is. More interestingly, we wonder what the EPA mileage of the new electric cars is. It turns out… the EPA doesn’t even know.

Plus, Tarantino’s take on CGI and how to spy on your grocery store from the comfort of your living room. All that and more on the world’s most error free podcast, Leser Nerd.

<itunes:summary>When the iPad and Kindle came along, they were touted as the future of the book. Turns out, they might just be its death knell. Or so says a prominent expert (http://www.cnn.com/2010/TECH/innovation/10/17/negroponte.ebooks/index.html?hpt=T2) who this week gave the hard copy a harsh diagnosis. Also getting a harsh diagnosis this week was Facebook's privacy policy (http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304772804575558484075236968.html). Then again, if that comes as a surprise, you might want to go to the nearest mirror, look into it and smack yourself.

This week, the nerds also look at a study that says nice guys get the girl (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/science-news/8062296/Nice-guys-usually-get-the-girl-in-the-end.html). Art had problems with it, but they still both kinda hope it's true. What IS true however is Rupert Murdoch and the boys at News Corp escalated their war with cable companies (http://mediamemo.allthingsd.com/20101016/news-corp-shuts-off-hulu-access-to-cablevision-subs/?mod=tweet) this week. The nerds try to break it down. (Key word - "try")

A Lesser listener this week pointed us to the fact that Han Solo actually had nothing to do with saving the day in Star Wars. It was in fact nameless tie fighter pilot #24601 (http://www.cracked.com/article_18719_the-tie-fighter-pilot-who-saved-day-in-star-wars.html). Either that, or maybe the rebels were driving a Toyota Hilux. After all, that does seem to be the vehicle of choice for insurgents and their ilk (http://www.newsweek.com/2010/10/14/why-rebel-groups-love-the-toyota-hilux.html?GT1=43002#). We here at the Flimm Building wonder what the EPA mileage of the Hilux is. More interestingly, we wonder what the EPA mileage of the new electric cars is. It turns out... the EPA doesn't even know (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/10/15/business/energy-environment/15auto.html?_r=1).

Plus, Tarantino's take on CGI (http://i.imgur.com/DUyRo.jpg) and how to spy on your grocery store from the comfort of your living room (http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/3116/tweaktown_s_solid_state_drive_optimization_guide/index.html). All that and more on the world's most error free podcast, Leser Nerd.</itunes:summary>

The final frontier seems to be calling the nerds this week. A lot of our topics deal with space. Before we get there though, it’s time to check the box office to see how The Social Network did. And the the results are…. well, a bit confusing. Seems a number one opening weekend is still not what the filmmakers had hoped for. We also revisit Shit My Dad Says to see Crashboy’s laugh quotient dangerously dipping and Art still calling for the head of Shat. The nerds then delve into a complex and moving discussion on the philosophical, ethical and socioeconomic implications of getting Jessica Alba actually naked. (unlike her latest movie where she faked it.) And if you expected us to talk about George Lucas’s announcement this week that he will be converting all the Star Wars films to 3D for upcoming theatrical release…. you’re right, we do. (but we kinda leave out fan boy caps at home, fret not)

Crashboy takes us through a study of 11 sci fi predictions that actually came true, in which our true nerd bona fides come into serious question when we have to look up Hugo Gernsback on Wikipedia. We reclaim them somewhat however when we look at the new earth-like planet that was discovered last week, and suggest reasons why Gliese 581g might not be the best spot to build a summer home.

All that plus, the fans flood the Facebook page this week, the army actually DOES have an Iron Man suit, and why you may not want to be making fun of your British friends’ teeth. All on America’s most trusted podcast, Lesser Nerds.
