Art got himself a fancy new iPhone. But rather than waiting in line for 12 hours, he just kinda slept in, called the store and popped down. So now it’s time for the nerds to test out Siri, Apple’s fancy new voice controlled assistant. Perhaps we could ask it what the future of R.I.M. is after last week’s global meltdown. Crashboy gives us a look at the bleak future of the Canadian company.

If you think there was no really big battery news last week, well think again! (also, please get out more) The Japanese used the post tsunami reality to reinvent the Ni-Mh rechargeable battery. And if that wasn’t enough, the big car companies came together in a rare moment of harmony, and announced they would all use the same charging system for their electric cars.

All that plus, Saddam’s porn kidnapping problem, sweaters for penguins, and we ask the age old question – cheese, or font?

All that plus, Saddam's porn kidnapping problem, sweaters for penguins, and we ask the age old question - cheese, or font?

This week, the nerds also look at a study that says nice guys get the girl. Art had problems with it, but they still both kinda hope it’s true. What IS true however is Rupert Murdoch and the boys at News Corp escalated their war with cable companies this week. The nerds try to break it down. (Key word – “try”)

A Lesser listener this week pointed us to the fact that Han Solo actually had nothing to do with saving the day in Star Wars. It was in fact nameless tie fighter pilot #24601. Either that, or maybe the rebels were driving a Toyota Hilux. After all, that does seem to be the vehicle of choice for insurgents and their ilk. We here at the Flimm Building wonder what the EPA mileage of the Hilux is. More interestingly, we wonder what the EPA mileage of the new electric cars is. It turns out… the EPA doesn’t even know.

It’s a melancholy time here high atop the Flimm Building. Art is taking off for the topless beaches of Corsica, thus leaving a void in all our lives. (at least that’s what we’re telling him.)

So this week’s season finale is jam packed with goodness. For example, did you hear the one about the guy who guessed the exact price correctly on “The Price Is Right” Turns out, working as a weatherman has more upsides than one would imagine. And for those of you who think “The Price is Right” is only watched by old people, well, you might want to keep an eye on those same people on Facebook… The site still has no good way of dealing with people when they die. And it’s bound to happen. Especially if they heed the billboard now on display in New Jersey encouraging old people to kill themselves. (then again, they’re living in New Jersey, so it’s not a bad idea) And speaking of old people who should think about assisted suicide, how about that Dick Cheney!

We also revisit the topic of electric cars, now that GM is making the smart decision to guarantee its electric car batteries for longer than their gas powered cousins! So you and your cougar girlfriend can go to make out point all you want, especially now that scientists have tried to explain what makes a cougar a cougar.

All that plus, what the hell is a QR code, how much is Marilyn Monroe’s death house going for, and one more Ask Art for the road. All on the season finale of Lesser Nerds.

<itunes:summary>It's a melancholy time here high atop the Flimm Building. Art is taking off for the topless beaches of Corsica, thus leaving a void in all our lives. (at least that's what we're telling him.)

So this week's season finale is jam packed with goodness. For example, did you hear the one about the guy who guessed the exact price correctly on "The Price Is Right (http://www.esquire.com/features/impossible/price-is-right-perfect-bid-0810)" Turns out, working as a weatherman has more upsides than one would imagine. And for those of you who think "The Price is Right" is only watched by old people, well, you might want to keep an eye on those same people on Facebook... The site still has no good way of dealing with people when they die (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/18/technology/18death.html?_r=1&src=twt&twt=nytimes). And it's bound to happen. Especially if they heed the billboard now on display in New Jersey (http://www.nj.com/news/index.ssf/2010/07/national_campaign_guiding_ill.html) encouraging old people to kill themselves. (then again, they're living in New Jersey, so it's not a bad idea) And speaking of old people who should think about assisted suicide, how about that Dick Cheney (http://www.wcbs880.com/pages/7706221.php)!

We also revisit the topic of electric cars, now that GM is making the smart decision to guarantee its electric car batteries (http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/15/business/15auto.html) for longer than their gas powered cousins! So you and your cougar girlfriend can go to make out point all you want, especially now that scientists have tried to explain what makes a cougar a cougar (http://www.time.com/time/health/article/0,8599,2002838,00.html).

All that plus, what the hell is a QR code (http://mashable.com/2010/07/13/calvin-klein-qr-code-billboard/), how much is Marilyn Monroe's death house (http://www.bornrich.org/entry/brentwood-house-where-marilyn-monroe-goes-on-sale-for-36-million/) going for, and one more Ask Art for the road. All on the season finale of Lesser Nerds.</itunes:summary>
