Mmmm… something smells good around the Flimm Building. (which is rare btw) Could it be the aroma of…… roasting chicken? Probably not. After all, we’re not in Canada where a new cable channel will feature an image of roasting chicken 24/7. Good thing the channel doesn’t need a host. Otherwise they could try to land Viorel Plescan, the Croatian conman who was arrested after 10 years on the lam. How did the cops finally crack the case? Well, it was made a bit easier for them after Viorel got himself a job anchoring the local news.

What would an episode of Lesser Nerds be without touching on a bit of sex, or in this case sex.com. It turns out the most expensive URL in history has an appropriately sordid past including, fraud, Tijuana, and 11.5 million dollars. Of course you don’t need that kind of money for a bit of naughty fun in the comfort of your own home. Now that Ubisoft is marketing the first “adult” game for the Wii, all you need is £17.91 and a few friends with questionable taste who will put up with a bit of your nonsense.Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post’s poll.

Speaking of nonsense, politicians have been using their higher office to good use as of late, as we can see through the impending death of the Easy Bake oven which last week saw itself dealt a mortal blow by elected officials with the law on their minds. But perhaps we speak too soon…. after all, Mattel isn’t giving up that easily. This thing might just keep on popping back up like a Whac-A-Mole. That thought takes us to Florida and the case of a technician who insured himself work by writing a virus specifically targeting the carnival game he was in charge of repairing!

All that plus, a FML ripoff, Lesser Nerds listeners on iPhone vs GPS, and a surprisingly accurate quiz that tests your exact level of nerdiness.

The Clip Show

As the nerds sat down for their weekly staff meeting last week high atop the Flimm Building, the discussion turned to what we could do to reward our faithful followers for 37 years of loyal podcast listening.

The answer was stunningly simple… a clip show!

After all, when people as disparate as Cyprian of IJustMadeLove.com or Tony Dyson, the creator of R2 D2 have dropped by the studio, it’s only right to share them at the end of the year. 2009 also found us talking to twitter sensation Roof Coffee Cup guy, (who almost got arrested for talking to us) and Professor Jeff Eely who filled us in on the death of pinball.

As if that wasn’t enough, Paul Milo, author of “Your Flying Car Awaits” stopped in to tell us about being a space trucker.

What more could a person ask for this festive holiday season?!

Today’s show finds the nerds asking what the heck is so special about the concept of a Google phone? After all, over the last 100 years, we’ve been promised several technologies that just never happened. Author Paul Milo drops by the Flimm Building to talk to the nerds about why he wanted to be a space trucker, as well as other topics from his new book, Your Flying Car Awaits.

We look at the “Twoddler”, a stunning and promising new technology that will be obsolete by the time you read this. If so, it will join the list of everyday things that have become extinct over the last decade.

Art Carlson confesses his desire to get an ultraviolet tattoo, while Crashboy reciprocates by confessing his crush on the girl who builds Millennium Falcon beds (the show’s not called “Lesser Nerds” for nothing).

We also look at rhinos, cougars and swine flu. Just in time for the holidays!
