It’s almost spring break! True, it doesn’t feel like it to most of us getting hammered by winter, but now is the time to put on your best Girls Gone Wild face and head to Myrtle Beach. While there, you can hope the resort managers have invested in a Jet Lev… the newest toy for those with waaaay too much money – because really, when WON’T you need a water powered jet pack? One thing you really don’t need according to the nerds is a screen protector for your smartphone. True, they still sell a bushel of these things, but aren’t they just the most annoying things ever??? The nerds discuss. There will undoubtedly be a screen protector for LG’s planned new smart phone. After all, the thing is going to be fully 3D. Yes, you’ll feel like you can really reach out and touch it!

Crashboy seems to have found a new passion, and it’s Hey Tell, the push to talk instant voice messaging service for the iPhone. We give it a try to see if it actually has real world applications, or is the app equivalent of the fondue pot. Then we look at some people who have way too much time on their hands: first up, the scientists who decided to turn a gene off in mice to make them more aggressive, and then, the physics nerd who fully calculated the planetary specs of Azeroth and determined the planet from World Of Warcraft has a diameter of exactly…. 8 miles! (Coincidentally, also the closest he’s been to a girl)

It wouldn’t be an episode of LN without a brief mention of Facebook. This week saw a rather optimistic study out of the University of Texas which speculates the social media giant actually makes us MORE social offline, not less. The nerds discuss exactly what this means, as well as how Texans define the word “social”

LOL!1! Live on Location

It’s here, friends…. shiny Apple day. And the nerds have spared no expense. We’re here on location at the Yserbueniueto Community Center (that’s what it’s called, right?). We’re backstage awaiting the arrival Saint Steven (hallowed be thy name) to tell us exactly what it is that’s made the hype machine blow more than a few gaskets recently.

For the occasion, we talk to tech guru Carmi Levy on what exactly we might hear today, and what exactly Betamax might have to do with it. We also chat with media insider Mathew Ingram on whether or not newspapers will get their magic bullet.

And if that wasn’t enough…. we somehow talked Millennium Falcon bed designer Kayla Kromer to move one state to the left and join us as our man on the street interviewer!

But as we wait, we still have a few items to keep us busy. For example…

She’s baaaaack! The mastermind behind the group of Heathers that made Crashboy’s life a scene from a John Hughes movie has now asked to be his friend on Facebook. What should he do??? Vote below. Hopefully she knows the four myths of profile pictures.

Requiem For A Rolodex

Today’s show finds the nerds asking what the heck is so special about the concept of a Google phone? After all, over the last 100 years, we’ve been promised several technologies that just never happened. Author Paul Milo drops by the Flimm Building to talk to the nerds about why he wanted to be a space trucker, as well as other topics from his new book, Your Flying Car Awaits.

We look at the “Twoddler”, a stunning and promising new technology that will be obsolete by the time you read this. If so, it will join the list of everyday things that have become extinct over the last decade.

Art Carlson confesses his desire to get an ultraviolet tattoo, while Crashboy reciprocates by confessing his crush on the girl who builds Millennium Falcon beds (the show’s not called “Lesser Nerds” for nothing).

We also look at rhinos, cougars and swine flu. Just in time for the holidays!
