Who wouldn’t want to roast Facebook? The repository of our love affection and seething hatred gets raked over the coals this week thanks to the surprisingly witty folks over at College Humor. But as the nerds find out, it’s actually MySpace that gets the bad part of the deal.

If a company from Puerto Rico gets its way, we could be seeing iris scan technology in a lot more machines, including your cell phone. But as one of the nerds points out, the chances of Minority Report becoming reality are not quite as close as some may think. What is close however is using your cell phone as your wallet. And if you doubt it, just ask the folks in New York and San Francisco who will be able to pay for goods using only their cell phone starting this summer. The nerds do have one question however…. How?

Long time fans of LN will be familiar with the dulcet tones of Wired.com’s geek dad, Ken Denmead. After all, he dropped by the studio last season for a chat about his new book. Well, it’s deja vu all over again, as Ken joins the nerds for a chat about his follow up book, and his refreshingly candid answer to the question of why exactly he wrote it.

All that plus, the sandwich in a can, why Microsoft kinda likes Android, and an Ask Art that will have you wondering “How safe is my porn?”

Sometimes it’s all about the headlines. For example, “Killer Porn” was undoubtedly the banner among the British tabloids when they heard of the 30 year old nanny who died while watching porn. Then again, there probably weren’t a lot of headlines about Mark Twain owning a wide variety of sex toys. God forbid one of our icons is actually human. But one headline this week gave us hope – “Advance in Quest For HIV Vaccine.” Turns out, scientists have come across antibodies that kill over 90% of HIV strains.

Would you want Yoda telling you where to go? Turns out you can, now that his voice is being used by Tom Tom. Yes, it’ll come in handy on Degobah, but still…. Last week, Crashboy told us Prince hates the internet so this week, we have a look and try to figure out why. (answer- he’s weird) Generation Y doesn’t hate the internet though. In fact, a new study says social networking will be a permanent part of their lives. This will have a ripple effect it seems, as Twitter will eventually make all your friends hate you.

Hey, did you her the one about he new iPad mini?

Yeah, so did we, so let's move on to other things

Hey… did you hear the one about the iPad mini?

Yeah, so did we…. So let’s just begin this week with the fine folks at Yahoo. Seems they want to revamp their site, so they’ve hitched their trailer onto the Facebook wagon. Will it work? It probably has the same chance of success as The Gore’s marriage. (Perhaps Al finally figured out that he was married to someone named “Tipper”) Hey, speaking of Al, how about that electric car thingy. Seems you might have a few more places to charge your new Chevy Volt now that charging stations are finally arriving.

<itunes:summary>Hey... did you hear the one about the iPad mini?

Yeah, so did we.... So let's just begin this week with the fine folks at Yahoo. Seems they want to revamp their site, so they've hitched their trailer onto the Facebook wagon (http://m.apnews.com/ap/db_16036/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=k8e5tIxN). Will it work? It probably has the same chance of success as The Gore's marriage (http://twitter.com/jusfonzin/status/15444336442). (Perhaps Al finally figured out that he was married to someone named "Tipper") Hey, speaking of Al, how about that electric car thingy. Seems you might have a few more places to charge your new Chevy Volt now that charging stations are finally arriving (http://m.apnews.com/ap/db_16053/contentdetail.htm?contentguid=uwbl9CQu).

Speaking of greasy salesmen, it turns out companies are bidding on advertising to YOU,.. in real time on the interweb! Welcome to the brave new world of instant ads… not quite like it was back in Mad Men times. Good thing you can now get yourself a genuine limited edition Mad Men doll (Christina Hendricks actual measurements not included)

The Nerds wonder what Google thinks of Apple’s 120,000 iPad preorders. And remember a few weeks back when the nerds had a good chuckle at Amazon’s expense for suggesting Astro Glide lube to shoppers buying bulk communion wafers? Turns out, that was just the tip of the iceberg!

Plus, Ask Art this week poses the age old question,… what’s better – real Star Wars, or Family Guy Star Wars? The answer might surprise you. And we give full props to the fine folks at edgypodcastreviews.com, who apparently thought we were kinda keen. Plus why James Brown’s body is missing… all on the special St. Swithun’s Day edition of Lesser Nerds.
